Privacy Policy
Port City Church 401 Tibet Ave, Savannah, GA 31406 Effective date: August 27, 2026
Port City Church cares about your privacy. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than legal language.
If you have any questions about anything here, just email us at parker@portcitysav.com or call (912) 925-9344.
1. What we collect
Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on our website, plan a visit through a Facebook or Instagram ad, sign up for an event, register a child for kids ministry, or contact us, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Which service you're planning to attend
- Whether you're bringing children, and their names and ages if you register them for kids ministry
- Anything else you choose to tell us in a message or prayer request
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we may automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you viewed, and how you arrived at our site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).
2. Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- Contact you before and after a visit, so you know someone is expecting you
- Answer your questions and respond to prayer requests
- Register you or your children for services, events, and ministries
- Keep you informed about what's happening at the church
- Understand which of our ads and pages are helping people find us, so we can be good stewards of what we spend.
- Meet our safety and record-keeping responsibilities, particularly for children's ministry
- We contact people who plan a visit. If you fill out a "Plan Your Visit" form, expect a text, a call, or an email from our pastor or a member of our team before Sunday.
That's the entire point of the form. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade or rent it. We never have and we don't intend to. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the church, and only so they can perform that service for us:
- Subsplash — our church management, email, and app platform
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) — when you submit a form through one of our ads, and for advertising measurement
Google — website analytics and, if you use it, our calendar invitation links
SnapPages — our website host
Each of these has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a child or another person.
4. How long we keep it, and how we protect it
We keep your information for as long as it's useful for the purposes described above, or as long as required for our records. If you ask us to delete it, we will, except where we're required to keep something (for example, certain children's ministry records).
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting access to the staff and volunteers who need it to do their jobs. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security — but we treat your information as something entrusted to us, not something we own.
5. Your choices
You can, at any time:
- Ask us to stop contacting you. Reply STOP to a text, click unsubscribe in an email, or just tell us.
- Ask what information we have about you.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it.
Email admin@portcitysav.com or call (912) 925-9344 and we'll take care of it. You don't need to give a reason.
6. Advertising
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram to help people in Savannah find our church.
If you fill out a form directly inside one of those ads, Meta passes your name and contact information to us, and we use it to follow up about your visit. Meta's handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policy.
We also use the Meta Pixel and similar tools on our website. These help us understand which ads are working and may allow us to show our ads to people who have visited our site. You can control how ads are targeted to you in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, and through your browser's cookie settings.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small files stored by your browser — to make the site work properly and to help us understand how it's being used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies in their settings. Turning them off may affect how parts of our site function.
8. Children's privacy
Our website is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without a parent's involvement.
We do collect information about children when a parent or guardian registers them for kids ministry, events, or camps. That information is provided by the parent, used only to care for their child safely, and shared only with the background-checked volunteers and staff serving in that ministry. If you believe a child has given us information online without a parent's knowledge, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Other websites
Our site and emails may link to other websites — a sermon platform, a giving page, a partner ministry. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we'd encourage you to read their policies.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the updated version on this page and change the effective date at the top.
