Father's Day 2026

Jun 21, 2026    Parker Dickerson

Pastor Parker confronts us with a simple yet profound question: when was the last time we truly answered honestly when someone asked how we're doing? We've mastered the art of looking fine while quietly falling apart inside, walking past each other unaware of the battles being fought.

Drawing from 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11, we're reminded that Christ died so we could live with Him forever, and therefore we're called to encourage and build each other up. The sermon challenges us with a transformative concept: will we be 'pumpers' or 'poppers'—people who lift others up or tear them down?

Through the story of Job's miserable comforters and Job's incredible response that even from the ash heap he would encourage others, we see that encouragement isn't about speaking from abundance but from conviction.

The most revolutionary takeaway is beautifully simple: if you think something good about someone, say it. Express it. Text it. Call them. Every person we encounter is fighting some battle, and we have no idea what God might do through a single word of encouragement. One conversation could be the difference between someone giving up and someone holding on. This isn't self-help philosophy—it's biblical truth that challenges us to become daily encouragers who actively combat the 48,000 negative thoughts the average person experiences each day with words of life, hope, and faith.
