Sunday Worship Experience

Dr Rutland takes us deep into the heart of what grace truly means by exploring a often-overlooked passage in Zechariah 6. We discover that grace is not just a one-time event at salvation, but an ongoing, transformative force in every aspect of our lives. The beautiful imagery presented shows us on one side of an insurmountable mountain—representing our hurts, addictions, unforgiveness, or bondage—with Jesus on the other side. The revelation is stunning: we don't remove the mountain through our own efforts. When we finally quit trying and cry out to God, Jesus shouts 'Grace, grace' at the mountain, and it melts like wax. This challenges our tendency to receive grace for salvation but then rely on our own strength for everything else. The message exposes how we often 'disgrace ourselves' by living under condemnation, being critical and stingy with others, or trying desperately to appear perfect when everyone already knows we're human. True grace-filled living means being generous, affirming, and loving—both toward others and ourselves. It means understanding that God's grace is not tolerance of our mountains but His divine power to remove them. When we live in this reality, we become pumpers rather than poppers, building up rather than tearing down, extending the same lavish grace to others that God extends to us every single day.
