Sunday Worship Experience

This message takes us to the wedding at Cana in John chapter 2, where we discover a profound truth about the expectations placed upon us versus God's actual calling for our lives. We see Mary facing a cultural crisis when the wine runs out, an expectation that wasn't from God but from society. How often do we find ourselves in the same position, carrying burdens that were never ours to bear? The passage reveals that Mary had 120 to 180 gallons of empty jars, yet she knew exactly what to do: bring the emptiness to Jesus and let Him work the miracle. We're challenged to examine all the labels and expectations our culture places on us as mothers, fathers, believers, and leaders. Are we trying to fill our own jars with substitutes, or are we willing to present our emptiness to Jesus and do whatever He tells us? The miracle at Cana wasn't just about wine; it was about recognizing that God's power is made perfect in our weakness. When we stop trying to meet worldly expectations and instead surrender our empty vessels to Christ, we position ourselves for the miraculous. This message calls us to reject comparison, refuse to measure ourselves by cultural standards, and remember that our calling is not to a task but to a Person, Jesus Christ Himself.
